Manteuse by Stephane Humbert Lucas is a play on words, combining the deadly and dangerous predatory mantis with the French term for "manteuse," a liar. MANTEUSE is a demonic woman, half human, half insect. Stéphane Humbert Lucas clearly didn't want this to be a delicate fragrance. Instead, this bold floral scent is a forbidden treat, a reckless and sensual return to 90s-style floral musk, powerful, warm, and utterly bewitching. Manteuse opens with a rich, vibrant explosion of bergamot and bright white flowers, stunning its prey before injecting its venom, a languid and deeply narcotic concoction composed of honey and rich orris butter. The dusty and deeply seductive base, made of woody musk, takes over, leaving us completely paralyzed, gripped by uncontrollable pleasure.
