The leather note is very modern in perfumery, as it refers to the distinctive smell of Russian soldiers' boots, whose leather was waterproofed with birch tar. This results in two aspects: one is made from castoreum or certain woods, such as Atlas cedar. The other is smoky, resulting from pyrogenic species such as cady, styrax, or birch. Some synthetics, such as IBQ or Suederal, allow us to add more texture to this attractive note, but we chose Oud Noir, which smells naturally natural.
