A fragrance dedicated to the love of my land, my roots, and Sicily. I was born in the South of the world, in a place I thought would be my eternal island. Ciavuru d'amuri means the perfume of love and is a sensory journey back in time, into my memory. It tells of my childhood, my youth, my devotion to my mother and grandmother, and a special devotion to my father, Bartolomeo.
I remember the fig tree, its large body creating shade in my grandmother Vincenza's flower garden. There I spent a carefree childhood. This fragrance opens with the milky green notes of fig, in the bitterness of wormwood and bergamot. Everything is sweet and white with age, like mothers' clothes, like the Sicilian sun. The heart of Ciavuru d'amuri is a floral bouquet of jasmine and ylang-ylang. It was the white flowers that created the reflections of light that still illuminate my eyes with emotion.
As evening approached, we returned home after long walks. The stark scents of incense, the warm woody notes of cedar and sandalwood resting on the sweetness of benzoin, all became familiar to my memory, like a sacred summer procession. I remember the voices slowly telling old stories. We were sitting around the table, still there, under the shade of the large fig tree. In this scent, I told one of the most intimate chapters of my life.
