"The Red Shoes" is the name of a 1948 ballet film for which Jacques Fath designed the exquisite costumes for ballerina Moira Schearer. In 1950, he designed a sumptuous red silk gown of the same name, worn by the model Bettina. This stunning gown inspired the perfumer to create a fragrance with a shimmering opening and a fresh sensuality. Blue ginger and pink pepper evoke the cool, metallic tones of the silk gown. Luminous Damask rose highlights the subtle opulence of patchouli, both of which exude a very powerful happiness.
The fragrance opens with vibrant blackcurrant, red berries, and grapefruit, offering a fresh and fruity introduction. Aldehydes add a sparkling quality to this overture. As it develops, the heart features Damask rose, providing a lush floral character, complemented by the green notes of geranium. The warmth of ginger adds a subtle spice, while pink pepper offers a lively touch. In the base, patchouli lends an earthy richness, enhanced by the creamy texture of cashmere wood.
